Equipment supply and advisory for naval and maritime security programmes; mine countermeasures, route survey, harbour and critical-infrastructure protection. Engagement is export-controlled and with vetted counter-parties only; enquiries route directly to the desk rather than through the public marketplace.
Defence engagement is structured differently from the rest of the desk. Every enquiry is triaged for end-use, end-user and export-control jurisdiction before any technical conversation happens. Public listings, marketplace exposure and open specification-sharing are not part of the workflow.
The equipment envelope covers dual-use systems; observation and light work-class ROV for MCM support and re-acquisition, AUV and sonar for route and MCM survey, positioning and imaging equipment, and specialist tooling procured project by project. Both new-build distribution and secondary-market brokerage are available inside the controlled framework.
Advisory scope for programme offices covers specification definition, OEM introductions within permitted jurisdictions and independent equipment valuation for lifecycle reviews. Weapons systems, munitions and classified hardware are outside our scope.

Dockstr’s clients and partners are active across marine and subsea technologies that can also have defence and security applications, including ROVs, AUVs and UUVs, subsea cable technologies, sonar, survey, positioning and inspection systems. Dockstr’s direct activity in defence remains limited, but its wider marine and offshore network creates connections with companies operating in this market.
Subsea and underwater cable infrastructure is currently one of the most relevant areas, alongside ROV, AUV and UUV technologies. These capabilities overlap with the inspection, monitoring and protection of critical underwater infrastructure and with markets where Dockstr’s clients and partners are already active.
Defence and security is not currently a core area of direct activity for Dockstr. However, companies within Dockstr’s international network operate in relevant technologies and applications. Where appropriate, Dockstr can use its commercial network to connect clients with suitable manufacturers, suppliers or specialist partners.
Dockstr does not currently provide direct technical specification or specialist defence procurement services. Where a requirement overlaps with its marine and subsea network, however, Dockstr may be able to introduce clients to relevant manufacturers, equipment suppliers or specialist partners.
Potentially, yes. Dockstr’s role in this sector is primarily commercial and network-driven. Where there is a relevant fit, the team can facilitate introductions between established marine technology companies and appropriate industry contacts, while specialist technical, regulatory and procurement matters remain with the relevant parties.
Send a one-line description of the requirement. We will route it to the right desk and come back inside one working day.
