Dockstr brokers used marine and offshore cranes across the four families that matter on deck: knuckle-boom, telescopic and stiff-boom, pedestal heavy-lift, and deck, crawler and auxiliary cranes. Our desk works with owners, yards and OEM service partners to release tested units with documented history and current certification.
AHC and non-AHC knuckle-boom, telescopic and stiff-boom offshore, pedestal heavy-lift, plus deck, crawler and auxiliary cranes.
Palfinger, Liebherr, MacGregor, Huisman, NOV, Seatrax, IHI, Cargotec and others. OEM service routing scoped as part of the sale.
DNV or ABS class status, AHC commissioning records, load-test reports and recent service intervals captured in every crane data pack.
Hydraulic power units, control cabins, slip rings, hook blocks and spares packages priced with the crane or sourced separately to match the buyer’s spread.
Looking for a used marine or offshore crane? Specify family (knuckle-boom AHC or non-AHC, telescopic, pedestal heavy-lift, deck or crawler), SWL, outreach, AHC class and DNV or ABS certification. We surface matched units from our seller network, with virtual and physical inspection before commitment.
Releasing a crane from a vessel sale, yard refit or completed project? We price against current OEM list and recent comparables, and run the asset to active buyers across construction, IRM, wind and subsea contractors.
Offshore cranes trade continuously on the secondary market as vessels change hands, fleets reshape around the wind build-out, and yards release surplus equipment from completed campaigns. Asset value sits in the AHC and control package, the certification path and the OEM service relationship, not just the structural steel.
Our desk works with operators, yards and ship managers to release cranes with full documentation: original FAT records, load-test history, AHC commissioning data, recent service intervals and the spares package available with the unit.
AHC knuckle-boom crane, subsea lift from OSV deck
Knuckle-boom cranes are the workhorses of offshore handling. Active heave compensated (AHC) units handle subsea lifts on construction and IRM scopes; non-AHC knuckle-booms cover deck handling, container moves and general offshore logistics.
Palfinger, MacGregor (including the former TTS portfolio), Liebherr and Cargotec sit at the centre of the secondary market for this family. Buyers focus on SWL at outreach, AHC class, winch arrangement and the condition of the HPU and control cabin.
Pedestal-mounted telescopic and stiff-boom cranes sit on platforms, jack-ups and supply bases for routine deck handling, supply-boat operations and personnel transfer where rated. Seatrax, Liebherr (BOS and RL series) and NOV (OC series) dominate the installed base.
Used units are released through platform decommissioning, jack-up sales and fleet renewals. We document SWL curves, boom length, certification status and recent overhauls so buyers can plan refurb and routing through OEM service centres.
Telescopic offshore crane, jack-up pedestal mount
Heavy-lift slewing pedestal cranes serve construction vessels, heavy-lift barges and jack-ups on subsea installation, decommissioning and wind foundation work. Huisman, Liebherr, MacGregor and NOV are the principal builders in this class.
Secondary-market activity is driven by vessel sales, conversions and the wind installation cycle. Asset value sits in the boom and pedestal structure, the winch and rope package, the slew bearing condition and the AHC and 3D motion compensation systems where fitted.

Compact deck cranes, telescopic crawlers and auxiliary units cover quayside handling, mobilisation support and secondary deck duties. Palfinger, Liebherr, Heila, IHI and Cargotec are common across this segment.
These units typically move on shorter lead times and lower price points than primary offshore cranes, and are often packaged into vessel mobilisation or yard fit-out scopes alongside the larger asset.

We broker used cranes from the principal offshore builders, Palfinger, Liebherr, MacGregor (including the former TTS portfolio), Huisman, NOV, Seatrax, IHI, Cargotec and others. We work with owners, yards and OEM service partners to release units with documented history and current certification.
Certification varies by unit and we document the status of each one. We capture DNV, ABS or Lloyd’s class status, load-test reports and AHC commissioning records in the crane data pack, and we flag any recertification or overhaul the buyer should plan for before deployment.
Dockstr brokers used marine and offshore cranes for buyers worldwide, active in 60 plus countries. Submit a buy or sell requirement and we point you to matched cranes available or coming to market.
