Saab Seaeye Falcon: Overview

The Falcon concept is the most successful underwater electric robotic system of its class and is proven in numerous intricate and demanding missions across many commercial, security and scientific sectors over the past 20+ years.

Typically, these systems are supplied on the following basis:

  • iCON configured systems;

  • Copper-based communication with associated umbilical;

  • Custom umbilical lengths can be supplied as required;

  • Age range of Falcon systems between 1-5 years;

  • Optional auxiliaries, spares, and other add-ons can be supplied, for example:

  • USBL systems;

  • Sonars;

  • EM5 (Electric Manipulator 5 function) c/w Skid & Aux Pod

  • Umbilical/tether reels.

Saab Seaeye Falcon: Scope of Supply & Options

In standard configuration, the Saab Seaeye Falcon is supplied with the following equipment:

  • Topsides: ICON surface control unit includes a 22” detachable daylight viewable touchscreen;

  • USB hand controller;

  • 10m Deck cable;

  • 200m twisted pair umbilical/tether (loose, non-fibre);

  • 300m rated ROV (vehicle), including:

    • 1x low-light camera on tilt unit;

    • 2x LED lights;

    • Heading & depth (no sonar).

  • Options:,

    • HD Camera, SeaPrince Sonar;

    • Field spares kit;

    • Single-function gripstick manipulator;

    • Deployment/recovery running latch.

ROV Lease Opportunity

Alternatively, Dockstr is able to offer its customers the opportunity to acquire a new Seaeye Falcon ROV (other makes available) without the need to pay in-full upfront through a lease-arrangement. The benefits of such an arrangement are:

  • Gives you a new ROV without having to fund the full upfront cost;

  • You have the option to purchase the equipment outright at the end of lease period or return it to Dockstr;

  • Additional equipment can be added to the lease or can be rented short-term;

  • Our flexible model means that the upfront cost versus the monthly lease can be adjusted to suit your circumstances;

  • We can offer an i90+ Observation ROV (from our partner, DWTEK) or a Seaeye Falcon. Other equipment offerings will follow.
