At a glance

AUV - what the desk handles

Micro and small AUV

Compact autonomous platforms; single-operator deployable, no host vessel required.

Hydrographic and science

Built for coastal hydrography, marine science, environmental monitoring and shallow-water survey.

Configurable sensor payload

Multibeam, side-scan, sub-bottom, CTD and imaging payloads; specified per mission.

Fleet operation

Multiple identical units can be operated as a fleet for area coverage missions.

Buy-side and sell-side

Two sides of the same desk

Buying

Specify mission profile, endurance, sensor payload and deployment platform. We confirm with Seaber and return a configured proposal with training and spares.

Selling

Two routes in. AUV manufacturers evaluating distribution in our regions are welcome to engage the desk. Operators and research institutions divesting vehicles or launch and recovery equipment can list them for resale to qualified buyers.

In detail

How this segment is distributed

Micro and small AUVs sit below the work-class AUV fleet; smaller, lighter, faster to mobilise, lower running cost. They are the right answer for shallow-water hydrography, coastal monitoring, marine science programmes and any survey scope where running a full AUV spread with a host vessel is over-engineered.

They are not a replacement for deep-water survey AUVs on offshore pipeline or geohazard programmes. We are clear about that boundary in the proposal.

Single-operator launch; no crane, no host vessel spread.

Seaber builds compact AUV systems that are deliberately operator-friendly; short training cycle, simple mission planning, sensor payloads that swap without sending the vehicle back to the OEM. That makes them a good fit for hydrographic offices, port authorities, marine science teams and inspection contractors building autonomous capability without a dedicated AUV crew.

Deployment from a RIB; mobilisation measured in minutes.

Endurance, depth rating, sensor payload, mission planning software and post-processing workflow are configured at order time. Multi-unit orders for fleet operation are priced together; driving down per-unit cost and standardising spares

The range laid out; identical hulls, mission-specific payload sections.

FAQ

Common questions

An autonomous underwater vehicle small and light enough for single-operator deployment from a workboat or quayside; typically under 50kg in air, with endurance measured in hours rather than days.

Standard production systems cover 100m, and 300m. If you have a specific requirement contact the desk.

Yes; multi-unit fleet operation is supported. The right mission planning workflow and surface tracking infrastructure (acoustic, RF) needs to be scoped alongside the vehicle order.

Not directly; AUVs are autonomous and pre-programmed; ROVs are pilot-controlled and can hold position, intervene and react in real time. They cover different scopes. We can quote both where the mission sits on the boundary.
