How this segment is distributed
Where mini ROVs earn their place
Mini ROVs sit below the inspection-class fleet; smaller, lighter, faster to mobilise. They’re the right answer for ports, harbours, aquaculture sites, hull inspections, dam and reservoir surveys, search and recovery, and any inspection-of-opportunity scope where running a full ROV spread is over-engineered.
They are not a substitute for a survey-grade inspection ROV on a contracted pipeline programme. We’re clear about the boundary in the proposal.
Configuration items
Tether length, depth rating, lighting, primary camera and optional secondary sensors (sonar, cathodic protection probe, gripper tooling) are configured at build. Mission profiles drive selection rather than catalogue defaults.
Spares packages and consumables are quoted alongside the system. Most operators we work with run with a small on-hand spares pack plus a back-to-base service contract.
Fleet adoption
Compact-system buyers often build fleets of multiple identical units rather than single bespoke systems. We price multi-unit orders and standardised spares packs together; driving down per-unit cost and simplifying maintenance.

Common questions
What depth ratings are available on new mini ROVs?
Most production systems cover 100m, 200m and 300m. Custom higher ratings are possible on selected platforms but move the system out of the compact-mobilisation envelope.
Do mini ROV systems need a LARS?
No; they’re designed for hand or davit deployment from a workboat, RIB or quayside. That’s part of what defines the class.
Can mini ROVs carry sonar or multibeam?
Yes; micro sonar and compact multibeam options are available on most platforms. Payload margin is the constraint; the desk talks through what fits the system at proposal stage.
Are these systems suitable for offshore deployment?
Selectively; for inspection-of-opportunity and limited shallow-water tasks. They are not a substitute for an inspection-class ROV on a contracted offshore programme.
